Polarised superlocalization in magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia

چکیده

Magnetic hyperthermia is an adjuvant therapy for cancer where injected magnetic nanoparticles are used to transfer energy from the time-dependent applied field into surrounding medium. Its main importance be able increase temperature of human body locally. This localization can further increased by using a combination static and alternating external fields. For example, if inhomogeneous oscillating then consequently, heat generation non-vanishing only gradient zero which results in superlocalization. Our goal here study theoretically experimentally whether perpendicular or parallel fields produce better A considerable polarisation effect superlocalization small frequencies large strengths great practice found.

Intravenous magnetic nanoparticle cancer hyperthermia

Magnetic nanoparticles heated by an alternating magnetic field could be used to treat cancers, either alone or in combination with radiotherapy or chemotherapy. However, direct intratumoral injections suffer from tumor incongruence and invasiveness, typically leaving undertreated regions, which lead to cancer regrowth. Intravenous injection more faithfully loads tumors, but, so far, it has been...

Magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia for prostate cancer.

Magnetic nanoparticles are increasingly used for clinical applications such as drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic fluid hyperthermia. A novel method of interstitial heating of tumours following direct injection of magnetic nanoparticles has been evaluated in humans in recent clinical trials. In prostate cancer this approach has been investigated in two separate phase I studi...

Antitumor immunity by magnetic nanoparticle-mediated hyperthermia.

Magnetic nanoparticle-mediated hyperthermia (MNHT) generates heat to a local tumor tissue of above 43°C without damaging surrounding normal tissues. By applying MNHT, a significant amount of heat-shock proteins is expressed within and around the tumor tissues, inducing tumor-specific immune responses. In vivo experiments have indicated that MNHT can induce the regression of not only a local tum...

Nonlinear simulations to optimize magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia.

Magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia is an attractive emerging cancer treatment, but the acting microscopic energy deposition mechanisms are not well understood and optimization suffers. We describe several approximate forms for the characteristic time of Néel rotations with varying properties and external influences. We then present stochastic simulations that show agreement between the approxim...
